Tommy made a significant driving error on Lap 1 of Heat 3 when driving on the P1 which significanctly favored the average time of the Nankang CR‐S. Tommy's Lap 1 of Heat 1 when driving on the Vitour P1 was first time driving the track so that lap is not indicative of the performance Potential of the Vitour P1. If we remove Heat 1 Lap1, Heat 2 Lap 2, Heat 3 Lap 1 and Heat 4 Lap 1 from the averages and recalculate these would be the results: | |
Tommy's Fastest Average Time for any 1 Single Heat for the day (Set During Heat 1, Lap 1 Excluded) was on the Vitour P1 with a time of: | 52.430 |

Test Notes and Conclusions
The 2002 Mazda Miata Test Vehicle was Optimized for the Nankang CR‐S and had won the NMCA West Compact Class Auto X Championship on the Nankang CR‐S.
If the Test Vehicle was Optimized for the Vitour P1 there is even more Speed Potential.
Both Test Drivers are very familiar with the Nankang CR‐S and have lots of experience on the Nankang CRS.
This was the first time both Test Drivers drove on the Vitour P1. As both Test Drivers become more familiar with the Vitour P1 there is even more Speed Potential.
The Vitour P1 was Clearly Faster than the Nankang CRS and exhibited superior Lateral Grip Compared to the Nankang CR‐S The 225/15 Vitour P1 is considerably lighter than 225/15 Nankang CR‐S by Approximately 2LBS
The Nankang CR‐S Seemed more forgiving to driver error than the Vitour P1 The Nankang CR‐S Seemed to brake a little bit better than the Vitour P1
The Nankang CR‐S seemed to launch from a Standstill better than the Vitour P1 The Nankang CR-S seems to produce optimal lap times sooner than the Vitour P1
The Nankang CR-S performed Optimally at a higher pressure than the Vitour P1 (3 to 5 PSI Higher)
Highly Suggest Looking into Improving the ability of the Vitour P1 to Launch from a Standstill better without sacrificing lateral grip
